Here are several ways to to file your federal tax return free of cost:*

In-person assistance filing your federal tax return:

• Call or text Walla Walla Tax Aide at 509-593-8257 to schedule a free in-person tax preparation and filing appointment, available from Feb. 3 to April 15, 2025.

Online filing your federal tax return

• IRS Direct File: A free, secure, and easy filing option that allows eligible taxpayers to prepare and file their federal tax return online. Check your eligibility at directfile.irs.gov .
• IRS Free File: Eligible taxpayers to prepare and file their federal tax returns using tax software from trusted IRS Free File partners. Taxpayers with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $79,000 or less in 2024 are eligible for this program. Click here for more info.
• IRS Free File Fillable Forms: Those with an AGI over $79,000 can file their return for free using Free File Fillable Forms at irs.gov/e-file-providers/free-file-fillable-forms .
